After running in the Silver State Open Road Challenge where you go fast without hardly turning I decided to try some track time. When I saw the Open Track Challenge I thought the name was close enough to what I ran before that I could handle this. I decided I better get some track time before I started this 7 day event so I went to a Nasa event March 2nd at Buttonwillow and got an instructor. I ran for 1 day and got in 4 sessions and then realized what a blast this was. I didn't run very fast but I didn't go off the track! So I signed up for Sears Point on March 30 and 31 for my second track day ever and ended up beating all of the cars with street tires and a lot of cars with race tires. Don't ask me how because I do not know. A lot of people were telling me to be careful after I told them this was my second time on a track. I guess they had a different perspective than me from inside the car. I thought I looked good not scary. |
Clint was my navigator in the Silver State Open Road Challenge. When he heard the name Open Track Challenge he thought the same thing - the names are close let's do it. Clint must be crazy to ride in the car while I'm driving I would not want to be my passenger. He went out on the fastest session at Sears Point and didn't puke! Clint has lots of tools and is mechanically inclined so he's in. |
