Chris, born and raised in England, started his motorsport hobby in a Wolsey. Then moved on to
rallying his Cortina and then an Escort and finally a variety of Audi
Quattros around English country lanes.
After moving to California, Jim, his co-driver got him going to
Open Track events. It’s taken a while to get used to the different style
and the repetitive nature of track driving. Chris campaigned his
Audi S4 until his Porsche Turbo was delivered.
He is a member of the Audi Quattro Club and an instructor at
Thunderhill, Sears Point, Laguna Seca, and Pahrump. |
Jim,
growing up watching races at Pebble Beach and Laguna Seca, has always been
a racing enthusiast. At
college he built and drove dune buggies. After flying B-52s in the Air Force, he returned to
California. A
few years later he got the speed bug and bought an E-Type Jaguar and then
an AC Cobra fell into his hands. Soon after that, he started driving in Open Track events.
Jim is a member of the Audi, Jag and NorCal Shelby clubs. He is an instructor at Thunderhill, Sears Point, Laguna Seca, and Pahrump. He also ran the 2001 Virginia City Hill Climb, finishing ahead of Chris (hence the 911 Turbo). Jim states, "The Cobra has about the same horsepower to weight ratio as the Porsche but the Porsche is much more comfortable driving between the tracks." |
